I made a new montage

I chose to edit my what is in a name montage because the first I had posted it up it had gotten deleted.  What I enjoyed the most about doing this project was the fact that it was the first time I could express myself I a different way.  Instead of writing or talking I could express my self using pictures and different effects.  I didn’t really want to improve the assignment I just wanted to get it done.  Before my montage was deleted I was proud of it because I worked hard on it and I am still proud of it.  I don’t really want to add anything else to my project but if I had to I would add pictures of friends and family.  Using photoshop I could make a montage of bad things and good things in the world.  Maybe when people see both they would start doing more good things or stop doing so many bad things. 

When people think of me they think of a funny guy that likes to do sports.  That is not the only thing I am though.  I do like to do sports which is why I have the bike picture and I do like to be funny because it makes life more fun and it is why I have George Lopez on my montage.  The other reason why I have George Lopez is because he is also a good role model.  He grew up with no parents only his grandparents and they always told him he was not going to accomplish anything.  He took that to heart and made sure that he was going to be successful.  Now he is very famous and very well liked and I would like to be driven like he was.  I have the picture of the trombone up there because I love music and love playing the trombone.  Also because playing the trombone has taking me several places in California where I had to perform and next year it will take me to the 2008 Olympics to play in the opening ceremony.  I will be there performing with the James Logan High School Band and Color Guard.  I have the Mustang Mach 1 because it has always been a big dream of mine to own one and I love to dream so I put it up there pretty big.  The coat of arms in the corner is my family’s coat of arms that I got from the internet.  I don’t know if it really is my coat of arms but it looks cool.  Lastly I have La Virgen De Guadalupe and the Mexican flag because I am proud of where my parents come from and I am a religious person even though it may not seem like it.

How to make a montage

-First think of a topic or something that you want to make a montage about (pictures of things in SMASH)

-once you have thought of that find pictures to put on your montage

-then import your images into Photoshop and decide how you are going to lay out the images

-once you have laid out your images use the tools to fade and use effects to make the montage look nice

    *show the different tools and the effects that they have

-save your work and post it online if you want to

-how to make a montage (put the picture of a montage in the background)

Topic

-choose your topic or whatever you want to make a montage of

-for this flash wee will make a montage of different pictures at SMASH

Pictures

-get on the internet or get pictures from your computer.  Then it might help to put them all into one file.

Import

-then import all of the images onto photoshop.

-layout all of the pictures how you think you might want them all organized

Edit

-then use all of the different tools to cut or fade images into each other so that you can all of them.

-once you are done save your work and you are done.  You can now upload your montage online or print or just use it on your computer.

At first my avatar looked nothing like me because the color was different and the face was different as well. When I first started to change my appearance I began with the color and the hair which turned out to be the hardest things to change. If you made the hair too short it would give you a bald spot. The easiest thing to change was the outfit because it was not very unique. It was hard for me to replicate my features because I was not very good at it and even with a mirror I didn’t know what I looked like. Out of the 144 attributes I only used about 90 or 80. In order for me to replicate my appearance I think I would have to scan a picture and compare side by side.

This is what I did in tech today. Using photoshop was pretty fun because it gave me so much freedom to express myself. Most of the time one picture is not enough to express oneself so being able to manipulate that picture or blend others in makes expressing myself easier. This montage is very simple because it was my first day but I still had a chance to express myself. Most of the images on here are things that I use to relieve stress, yet have fun with at the same time. My favorite stress reliever is riding my bike, that’s why it’s on top. Then I like to play music with my friends, which is why I put the picture of the James Logan Marching Band and Color Guard. I also like to play soccer and watch things like Transformers. Lastly, I put the picture of a city on the background, because my favorite place to be is in my hometown with friends and family, where I feel the most comfortable.

No matter how hard we try we can’t escape the fact that, “media is every where,” (Noel Youhannes). Most people are unaware of the different types of media and the fact that media affects almost everything that we do. There are five different types of media which are text or writing, audio or sound, video, images, and interactive media like websites that you interact with. There are five different types of text media which are news, entertainment, advertisement, informational, and educational. All of the different types of media affect me because I have to read and write text every day at school. I listen to audio media every day in the form of music, on my ipod, or sound from videos, on youtube, which I also see every day. Each day I look I see different types of images, on google images, and interactive media affects me whenever I go online and visit my Myspace. It is hard to remember when I first came into contact with media because it has always been around me my entire life but I think the first time I came into contact with media was when I was born, at Kaiser hospital, and the doctors filled out all of my information using text and my parents took pictures of me. Ever since I have had media in my life like when i watched Barney or now when I watch Thats 70’s Show. Media is popular because it is fun and pretty much the only way to communicate with any one. Using the right kind of media you can change and influence the world. Using text, video, or audio you can send messages all over the world warning people about problems or sharing information that would be helpful in different parts of the world.
