I choose to combine assignment four and five because when I began working with flash it immediately grabbed my attention and it was fun working with this program. Flash is fun to work with, there is no limit to what I can do, I can put music, animation, backgrounds and I get to be really creative. What I really want to say is that it helps me enhance my creativeness. What I wanted to improve was actually to include more material into my project. To improve my project I had to ask may of my peers for help, and I also asked for the help of my instructors. I feel that this project is the best one I have done so far since the beginning of the summer because I placed a lot of effort in it. In addition, I feel that my project is very comical because I used animation but I also think that it has an evil theme due to the music and backgrounds. But even though I feel pretty good about my project I want to add more content to make it more interesting for people to see. If I were to use flash for the benefit of the world, I would make a flash movie clip about the poverty in which the majority of the world lives in. In this movie clip I would include meaningful music, pictures, and animation to portray the problem in a way that the world can understand. Most importantly, I believe that the world should use this types of programs to advertise benevolence, humility, and peace around the globe to all human kind.

My final project or the one I am going to correct and make really nice is the Flash project. I chose to do this project not only because it is fun but also because it has been a really good experience using this program although I have had technical difficulties.

I. Frankenstein: Cover page

II. Brief summary: Frankenstein is a scientist who gets carried out by certain emotions caused by experiences and he is eventually driven by madness and creates a creature. That creature begins a rampage of killing because he has not had anyone love him or even care about so his misery turns him wicked.

III. Main point #1-Humans should not mess with the law of god because we are just humans and we are not perfect like god so we should not try to mimic him.

IV. Main point #2-Vanity can bring destruction: Acknowledgement, power, fame caused Frankenstein to loose his loved ones.

V. Main point #3- love creates good and hatred creates evil, loneliness, circumstances can change the way people are like Frankenstein’s misery turned him evil.

VI. Many stories have a Bride of Frankenstein but the original did not and I will clear this confusion.

VII. Many people think Frankenstein is the monster but the scientist is actually Frankenstein and once again I will clear this confusion.

VIII. In many stories Frankenstein is really old with grey hair but he is actually young.

My class and I were working on a program called Second Life and we had to create an avatar based on our characteristics. We were given 3600 seconds to complete this task and to make it look like us as much as possible. Unfortunately, this task was hard for me due to the fact that I could not get my exact body size measurements and characteristics. The task that was the most difficult to me was getting the face to look like mine because I could not tell which nose was fit for me , and I could not get the shape of my face. But the easiest part of this project was choosing the clothes for my avatar because they were made already and the only thing I had to do was click which one I wanted. I have been playing around with Second Life for a while now and I have found new attributes to this site. For example, my avatar can fly, ride cars, talk with other people, play games, and it can even switch from one place to another. There are many places in this site like the beach, and the casino. Overall, Second Life is a pretty fun site, and I would really recommend everyone to get a Second Life account at the Second Life.com.

My name is Francisco Betancourt and this name has a lot of meaning to me. My first name, Francisco, comes from France and as you can see the first five letters are the same. Although, it originated in France it had a different form in which it was written. My name was written and still is in some places Francis. Even though they are spelled differently anyone would have been able to understand the point and point out the similarities. I was not able to find the meaning of my first name but I do know that it has something to do with France and its history. I was named Francisco after my grandfather, and my uncle is also name Francisco.

I made the backround to be the Canary Islands because based on my research this is were my last name originated and were it was turned from Bettencourt to Betancourt. In my montage I have a picture of Mexico in a circle because that is where I was borned and raced until the age of nine. The most symbolic picture in my montage is the painting in the right top hand corner which is basically a women hugging her children representing family which is my number one priority. In addition, my second best simbolyc picture is the aguacato because where I was raced there were fields of these so we always had guacamole to eat. By looking at my montage you can literally tell what kind of person I am. My montage represnts me because I am calm and peaceful which can be easily seen in the montage.

I believe that my name fully represents me because it has been passed on to me by my granparent and I hope to to the same with my grandchildren. basically my name was in my blood before I was borned. In addition, my name represents me because it is not one of those long and crazy names it is just normal.

The photoshop picture I created has a lot of meaning. Firstly, the image of the virgin Mary in the middle represents religion and the belief every human needs, and it does not matter what beliefs but as long as you believe in something because it is very good for spiritual health. Secondly, the picture with the birds symbolizes a world without violence which is what we all want. The picture in the upper left hand corner represents the world and how we should nurture it to keep it going as long as possible. The picture in the top middle means that the world now is able to communicate but that not everybody has the communication in their disposal, which is a big problem because the world can not help people that it does not hear. The picture in the bottom left hand corner symbolizes how big the universe is and how small we are and that we need to seriously start looking for alien life so that maybe we can get help with the problems we are experiencing today like global warming. The picture in the bottom right corner represents paradise which is what every human being strives for. Finally, the backround which is a water drop, stands for time and that even though time goes slow our problems are becoming large like a body of water.

The forms of media that I am exposed the most frequently are audio and text. I am exposed to audio, because I often research music on the web and I also hear the news on the radio. My favorite music websites are youtube and batanga. I am involved with text media because I chat on the internet, I send e-mails to my teachers, and practically communicate with other people through writing yahoo mail, pogo, or in Myspace, where I can find the new movies that are in theaters everyday. The very first time I came in contact with these types of media was in sixth grade. I had barely graduated from the fifth grade and was going to summer school and we got to use the computers for free time and I did not know what to do, so I asked someone what I could do and they said, “listen to music”. Of course I did not know how to get music on the web, so they helped me, and since then I have enjoyed listening to music. I think these media in particular are very important, because we humans can easily communicate through them. It is also important, because in real life, we use this to advertise, get information, and mainly stay up to date with the news that is affecting our communities today. I can use this media literally every single day to communicate with other people, play games, and to do research on any topic that comes to my mind. Media has influenced me in many particular ways. One of the ways that it has influenced me is to make believe that someday I will be able to establish communication to all the corners of the earth without polluting our planet. Media has also influenced me to act against global warming and to be able to reverse its process. When I started going to high school at East Palo Alto Academy I used to use the computer on a regular basis, when one day I stumbled upon a website, where I took a quiz and saw how much I was polluting the environment nation wide. This website was called ecofoot. Last year when I saw the movie, “An Inconvenient truth “, by Al Gore, with SMASH, I was so astonished by the way the temperature is rapidly increasing that I became really interested in this topic and made it one of my goals for the future to become an environmental engineering. I can use Media to broadcast and news to the entire world, and that we need to start taking better care of our planet now and not later when it gets harder to stop global warming. Besides we all know what happened in World War II when no body wanted any problems so they just let Hitler do his thing, and finally the world tried to stop him and eventually did, but it was difficult. But do you know what is the interesting part about Hitler’s rise to power is that he used media to influence people to do what he wanted. I can keep going and going telling my story but it is late so I gotta go to sleep and I hope that there is more people interested in the protection of our planet.
