What’s in my name you ask?!
July 9th, 2007

Hello my name is Armani Stanford-Wyse and I am a second year SMASH scholar who attends Pittsburg High School. (Go Pirates!!!) My last named was derived from two areas known as Spain and Italy. This is unique because I would have never thought that my name had come from these two wonderful places. I actually got my name from Georgio Armani who was born in Italy. My father used the cologne all the time and decided that when his first child was born, he would name him or her Armani. My mom loved the name and that is how I came to be known as Armani. When my sister was born her name came from her father also. He did not know that my name was Armani because they always called me “Money Man” and plus I was living with my grandmother at the time. He decided to name her Imani which is very similar to my name.
My montage expresses who I am in a number of ways. The owl and the brain, used in the bottom left corner, is used to represent the fact that I am a wise young man. An owl symbolizes the trait of intelligence which represents me very well. The state of Texas and it’s flag represents me because I am lone and different like a star. There is no other Armani like me! The cologne and the suit represents me because it is where my father got my name from. The money symbol represents the fact that my future is very bright. Also, my family called me money man when I was younger and I had really grew accustom to the name. The red carpet represents another way that also helped my father come up with the name Armani. Most celebrities that walk the carpet where Georgio Armani w hich made my father start to like the cologne. The Stanford football helps represent my last name which came from Spain. It is also the name of a university which is in Palo Alto. It also represents my love for football.
