What could you do in 3600 seconds? Go shopping, do charity work, do homework? Me, I spent 3600 seconds creating an avatar in Second Life. Second Life is a virtual world in which you create an avatar. When I first saw the avatars initial appearance it did not resemble me at all. I thought that there was no way I could make the avatar resemble me in any way, shape or form. The face, eyes, pigment and nose were nothing like mine.
Once I had studied my appearance in the mirror I began to edit my avatar. I began with features such as the head, eyes and body. I went in the order of the task menu. This made everything run smoothly rather than randomly going through the task menu. I found that the features easiest to replicate were my eyes an lips. This is only because the tools allowed me to get the very shape, fullness and color of them.
I found that my facial shape, jawline and nose were the hardest to replicate. Getting just the right shape of the jaw, face and nose shape was hard. I believe it was difficult to replicate these, because the game is based on a generalization of basic characteristics most people in the world have. Everyone is different and there is no way to accommodate EVERYONES attributes.
I modified approximately thirty two features for my avatar. They fell under the Body, Eyes, Nose, Mouth, Chin, Torso and Legs categories. To replicate my full appearance would not be possible because nothing can replace the original. My avatar however slightly reminds me of my self, but there is only one me. Me, myself and I.
