Music has definitely changed my personality. I remember being 4 years old and hearing KOIT on the radio and my dad talking about the Temptations. My first Television memory is watching the Simpsons. Video and audio are the two types of media that have influenced my life. I usually record my voice and use podcasts to transmit my audio. I use a camera to take photos that mean something and create videos that can change a life. I think these media are able to change minds and move mountains. All media is world wide. Since it is worldwide it is easy to share videos and audio through different means. By using these types of media I will be able to touch lives and change minds. The paragraph above is something I wrote last year in tech 1. In tech 2 this year we will be stepping it up a whole new level. We attempting to created a flash game. In the next five week, with the help of Simon and Trevor (our instructors), we will plan, create, and finalize a game, product of SMASH students. "My Momma asked me will I ever change. I tell her yea, but its clear I'll always be the same. Until the end of time" - Tupac

Grade Pitch

August 7th, 2007

I know this is late and I apologize.

I believe I should get B+ as my final grade for tech. I have been a consistent worker and a dedicated student. Although my comments haven’t been as constructive as others, I feel my hard work with the design doc makes up for it. In the doc I have made majority of the concept art. I have also worked hard on the my writing assignments, when asked to contribute to the doc. I feel that my experiment deserves a final grade of B. I have worked on it tirelessly but haven’t yet put a sufficient background. I have also completely grasped the concept of game theory (to the extent we we’re taught). This may also seemed rushed but I will update it soon.

Traveler’s Dilemma

July 24th, 2007

Traveler’s Dilemma- the Traveler’s Dilemma is about two travelers who lost their baggage on a plane. An officer who was put in charge to settle the situation came up with an idea to give the two travelers the right luggage. He figured that the luggage had to be at least worth 100 dollars so he split the two travelers and told them to write down the value of the luggage they lost. Depending on what they wrote, there would be different outcomes.

GameTheory.net

July 19th, 2007

GameTheory.net is a site where you can go to, to understand the concept of Game Theory better. If you select the student page from the main page, you will see a variety of options. A couple of options are Pop Culture and Interactive Media. The Pop Culture page basically contains information on how the Game Theory appears in the media. For example the Game Theory can be found in a movie called “A Beautiful Mind”. In the movie the main character explains to his friends which choice leads to the best out come. It turns out that the friends must work cooperatively to get the best result. The scene can be found on Youtube.com. Also found on the site are interactive games that you can find in the Interactive Media section. One game that I’ve played is called the Prisoner’s Dilemma. You and a partner (the computer) have committed a crime. The cops are interrogating you and want you to confess. If you choose to confess you get 30 pts and your partner gets 0 pts. If your partner confesses as well, you both get only 10 pts. If your partner decides to collude and you decide to collude too, you both receive 20 pts. You only receive 0 pts if you collude and your partner confesses.

Game Theory

July 19th, 2007

Game Theory provides analytical tools for examining strategic interactions among 2 or more participants. Game Theory is all around us. Just think carefully about every decision that you make everyday. Each choice has its own risk and reward. For example, a common choice made every day is when to wake up. The risks are that if you decide to wake up early and then you may feel tired later on in the afternoon. The reward is if you wake up earlier then you may be able to better prepare yourself for the day ahead. If you decide to sleep a little longer, the risk is that you may be late. The reward is that you feel more energized to start the day. A simple choice, such as waking up in the morning, has something to do with the Game Theory.
