I believe that all individuals on this earth are always been exposed to the media. I’ve been exposed to media ever since I was a kid and started to make sense about things that were going around me. I have always been fascinated by electronics, from iPods to Laptops, from video games and consoles to phones. There are so many electronics, and each of them is being advertised almost the same way; whether by television, radio, the Internet or by simple forms of writing (newspapers, magazines etc.). These types of media are really good at selling their product because there are big companies that make so much money out of it. They are really affective because big companies spend lots of money on media that advertise their product. For instance, take Nike. The Nike company uses several types of media such as video, showing T.V. commercials, also radio announcements, and through all kinds of print, like magazines.
The Internet is an excellent and accessible form of media, and through this I think that I can communicate with many people. The internet in this century could be said to be the best form of media because in it people can find a lot of information and pretty much everything they might be looking for. For example, through this profile I can get more people to get to know who I am what I do and many other characteristics.
Through this class I hope to get more knowledge; knowledge about Dream Weaver, Flash and Photoshop, which are the programs that we are using to create this profile. Knowing how to use these, I’m going to be able to work on my Senior Digital Portfolio, which I’m going to have to present at the end of my senior year.

Assignment Two - Montage: What's In A Name?

First of all I want to dedicate this to my older brother, Jaime, who now is probably watching and taking care of me from heaven.

What does the word "name" means to you? To me, it just meant several things that represent me, that demonstrates who I am. My name doesn't mean anything by itself, but when my personality is added, it means a whole lot more. My last name comes from the mayan language root "Ucke", which means drink. That's why I added the Mayan picture on the top right corner, which represents my culture, my decent and my pride.
I wanted to be unique; I wanted to put my brother that passed away, but I didn't know how. Through Photoshop I was able to put several pictures together, including my brother's picture.
The planet with my brother and the cross means that my brother is watching over us, my family and me, and that he is resting in peace above us. On the bottom and left corners you can see "La Virgen de Guadalupe" as part of me, basically religion. "La Virgen" means a lot because she is the mother of all human being, she's Jesus Christ mother. She's one taking care of my older brother, watching over him, just the way my mother did. On the left corner, and on the middle bottom, two soccer pictures can be observed. These two pictures show my love for the sport, and I added two soccer players that I like, Roberto Carlos(left) and Ronaldinho(bottom) that mean a lot to me.
The background means that I don't have any limits, the universe, that I won't stop being me. Charly Uc, that's who I am.
