SMASH – the Summer Math And Science Honors Academy - is a program of the Level Playing Field Institute (LPFI) a San Francisco based non-profit. SMASH is a three-year math and science enrichment program for high-achieving, low-income, underrepresented high school students of color in the San Francisco Bay Area. SMASH helps students to excel in science, technology, engineering and math and prepare to succeed in four-year colleges and universities.
SMASH Technology highlights the SMASH Video program. SMASH Video was the first course to give SMASH scholars an opportunity to express themselves and their unique views on the world using video. The course was a favorite among the 2008 SMASH Senior class.
SMASH Technology II: This video highlights the outcomes of the 2010 SMASH Video course. SMASH scholars created some phenomenal short films, documentaries, and public service announcements using Final Cut Express and Canon HD cameras.
