I have always been interested in technology because it is not only does it help you do things but it is also the future. This is why I feel that one needs to get involved with technology young and become successful in the future. I like gadgets and other cool things all over the net that let you express yourself like Myspace. In the world today there are many types of media but I feel that the one that most influences me is video. Video is everywhere including television, and web sites. Video and media influences me both consciously and unconsciously. I sometimes find myself liking certain things that I see in video but may have not like before if I had not seen it in video. Television and video games have been around me all of my life so I feel that I have grown up with video around me. This allows for me to let my guard down when I am around it, and therefore video is a powerful tool to use. Another reason that video is very powerful is because it is able to move images and capture the attention of people. It captures people’s attention and keeps it for a long time spreading a message in a non boring way. I feel that video is the best way to get teenagers attention and spread a good message, and this is why I want to work with video as opposed to images which can be boring. Video is the area that I will focus in my life and is something that help me achieve my goal which is to be a computer designer. This class is a huge stepping stone for me because I will be able to work with Dreamweaver and Flash which will help me later on.

Assignment Two - Montage: What's In A Name?

When I was first told that we were going to do a montage I was a bit mad because I felt that it was going to be a bit boring. It was really fun doing this montage and really beneficiary. I found this beneficiary because I was able to use a new program and create something that tells you a lot about me without words. I also learned about myself because I had to research where my name came from and what my name represents. This was hard but I fixed this problem by just looking at anything that said Avila and using google. Once I did this I was able to find pictures about my heritage and place them in a montage with pictures of things I like. This all took a while because I wanted to be able to have to sides of me my heritage and what I currently like.

The map in my montage represents where I come from because that image is Avila Spain which is suppose to be where I came from. The castle and towers are in Avila, Spain which is where I came from. The picture in the middle is a picture myself and I placed that there to show you how I look. The Mexican flag in the background is like a transition from my past to what I like now. The picture in the lower right hand is a picture of my family that is very dear to me. The giant and raider logos are the two teams that I like and cheer for. So as you can see you learn so much about me from just a little montage.

Assignment Three - Flash Presentation: What's In A Word?

We were asked to make a presentation about the a word (my being peace) and how it has evolved. When I was first asked to do this project I thought it was going to be a lot like a powerpoint presentation and that we were not going to learn all that much. After I started getting into my project I was so surprised how much harder this program was then that of powerpoint. I also found that you could so much more with flash and have a totally different experience that that of powerpoint. I did have some problems with my flash presentation because sometimes I became confused every time I tried to do buttons. I fixed this by being organized and by having all of my buttons with names that tells me what they are and where they are. I did this because I thought that this would be the easiest way to fix this problem. I will use the skills given to me here by being able to use flash in class presentations and it will also showed me how important it is to be organized.

My presentation is about the word peace. It shows the viewer the origin of peace, the common uses of peace, and the actual definition of the word peace. I picked the hippie sign background because I feel that this is how the word is associated with the most. I also picked all of my other pictures because I feel that they were relevant to what I was currently explaining. I hope that this presentation will show everyone what the word peace means and how it has changed to the word we currently here and use.
